A Necessary Important Read

After the 2008 crash, TARP, and all the other alphabet list of Fed intervention and political machination, I immersed myself in learning what is really happening with our markets and country. This book provides a solid foundation for that understanding. It breaks new ground in identifying specific causes, and unnecessary prolongation, of the Great Depression. Smoot-Hawley tariffs and the Crash of 1929 are identified as mercantilist actions which were then compounded by wave upon wave of destructive economic legislative and executive actions, assuring the decade long Great Depression. It traces from 1880 to the present the forces which drain capital from the middle class by using government influence. Official malfeasance which serves the interests of the mercantilist is occurring at an alarming rate today and portends the end of our Republic if allowed to continue unchecked. Framed in the perspective of classical economics, it lifts the curtain on the forces that actually determine markets and events. It is a wake-up call for anyone alarmed by the current political and financial turmoil.

Very informative although there were some missing years I thought were significant this book goes into detail about FDR and my suspicions that FDR not only made the 1929 great depression worst but he kept the great depression and the U.S. economic crash at the lowest point in American history for his whole administration with NO improvement pass WWII. He raided our national treasury to buy gold for his whole administration which took liquid assets away from the hands of the common man and gave it to his banker and financial friends. I can see similarities between what FDR did to the American economy to what Obama is doing to our American economy today for the past 8 years. From George Washington through George Bush, all the presidents created $10T of national debt over a 220 year period. Obama created $10T in NEW national debt in just 8 years along with his massive regulations, has kept put and kept our nation on its knees for 8 years now. He's also crated a whole lost generation of young people who's had none of the baby boom generation advantages of learning and working hard to create a great generation today.

history that reads like a lee childs novel

The author is an engineer with a law degree who represented labor/management trust funds for many years and even argued cases befor the u s supreme court. His book is a compelling history of mercantilism and about a multigenerational group of elites who have corruptly managed to insinuate themselves into business and govornment for their own enrichment and control at the expense of the working and middle class.. The book reads like a Lee Childs novel ( not 61 hours ) but is not fiction and marshalls facts and figures that are a compelling indictment of the criminal activities of so many of our so called Leading Lights. His critique of Monetarism, Keynsianism, Federal Reserve policy as well as legislative policy leads to the conclusion that western culture is under attack by a small minority waving false flags to destroy a nation founded on decent principles. This book should be required reading for all concerned Americans as well as citizens of other nations. The fact that it is so literate and such a GOOD READ is all the better.
